The Shire of Morawa advises due to road conditions, ALL UNSEALED ROADS in the Shire of Morawa will be closed to vehicles over 4.5 TONNES from 8:30am 03/07/2025- with the exception of school busses. Road conditions will be reviewed regularly.

Please be advised that all Department of Transport services will be unavailable at the Shire Administration Office from Monday 7 July 2025 to Friday 11 July 2025. Following the recent announcement from our current family day care educator, Theresa that she has made the difficult decision to cease operating the family day care center as of December 2025 due to family commitments. We wish to advise the community that the Shire understands the importance and necessity of having a day care facility in Morawa and we will prioritise advertising for a replacement as soon as possible. Following the success of our grant application under the Commonwealth Government's Growing Regions program – Round 2, the Shire is progressing with the development of the Early Childhood Education Centre in Morawa.

Please be advised of upcoming road closures to complete Road Drainage Upgrades. Works will be completed on Stokes Road from Monday 12 May 2025 to Saturday 24 May 2025 and Prater Street from Monday 26 May 2025 to Saturday 07 June 2025.

Due to scheduled power outages by Western Power to complete necessary upgrades the Morawa Community Gym will be closed on Tuesday 13 May 2025 from 7.30am - 5.00pm.

The shire administration office, Shire Depot and Morawa landfill will all be closed on Friday 25 April 2025.

Public Notice - Disposal of Property

In addition to the Easter Closing hours the Shire Administration Office, depot and Landfill will also be closed Friday 25 April 2025 for ANZAC Day.

We have had another amazing Pool Season with everything from hosting Swimming carnivals and swimming lessons to our Australia Day Family fun day and being the perfect spot to cool off during hot summer days. Thank you to our amazing pool manager Ashton for keeping us safe and looking after our wonderful Swimming pool. Pool opening hours have decreased in preparation for the last day being Sunday 27 April 2025.

The ranger will be in the Morawa town site from 10.30am, Thursday 10 April 2025 conducting corella culling activities. Activities will be taking place around the Morawa Swimming Pool, Winfield Street Town Centre, Solomon Terrace and other Shire facilities. Corella management is undertaken to try to reduce the damage currently being caused by the corella population. Please do not approach the ranger conducting shooting activities.

Public Notice of Special Meeting of Council - 6 April 2025

We wish to advise that the Shire of Morawa Administration Office will be closed all day from 8.30am- 4.30pm on Tuesday 8 April 2025 for staff to attend essential training. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Morawa Swimming Pool will be closing at 5.00pm today, Thursday 27 March 2025 due to the interschool swimming carnival.

Construction works have commenced on the reroofing of the Morawa Recreational Centre. As a result of this work, the recreation centre, tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts and surrounding areas are temporarily closed to the public. We kindly request that the community refrain from entering the area until the project is finished, which is expected to be completed by 31 May 2025.

Please be advised that traffic control will be in place from 9:00am on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, on the Wubin-Mullewa Road within the Morawa town site, for essential water pipe repairs to be completed along the roadside. Please avoid the area if possible and follow all instructions from traffic control personnel and signage.

The roadworks on the Morawa South Road, Hill Road, and Boundary Road have now been completed, and the roads are reopened as of today, Monday, 24 March 2025 from12:00 PM. We appreciate the community's patience during these essential road upgrades.
