The Shire of Morawa would like to remind all ratepayers that if you have chosen to pay your rates in instalments, the second instalment is due by 13th December 2024. Please refer to your original rates notice for the exact payment amount. If you are experiencing difficulty making the instalment payment, please contact the Shire Administration Office to set up an interest-free and fee-free payment plan for the 2024/2025 financial year.

Temporary road closures of Winfield Street and Prater Street will be in place on Friday 6 December 2024 for the Morawa Christmas Street Festival.

The HARVEST & MOVEMENT BAN for the Shire of Morawa will be lifted at 6:30PM Friday 1 November 2024. Please be mindful of current conditions.

We recognise the strain that the current economic climate is placing on families' financial situations. Following the Council meeting held on 14 October 2024, the Shire has decided to waive interest and administrative fees on all approved rates instalment and payment plans that are scheduled to be paid in full by 30 June 2025. If you are currently on an instalment plan, no action is required on your part, as adjustments will be made automatically to your account. If you are not on an instalment plan ,or would like to sign up for a new payment plan, please reach out to the Shire Administration Office on 9971 1204.

Please be advised that sections of Winfield Street, Prater Street and Stokes Road will be closed for Drainage upgrades to be completed. Construction works will begin on Stokes Road on 28 October 2024.

Due to current road & weather conditions, ALL UNSEALED ROADS in the Shire of Morawa remain open to Heavy Combination Class vehicles (HC - trailer more than 9 T GVM or Prime Mover + Semi Trailer). Roads still remain closed to Multi-Combination Class vehicles (B Double or Road Train). Roads will be reviewed again on the morning of 22/08/2024

Public Notice - Amendment to October 2024 Ordinary Council Meeting

The Shire wishes to advise that repair work on the pothole adjacent to the Refuel Australia depot on the Wubin-Mullewa RD is scheduled for repair by ARC Infrastructure on the 28 August 2024, between the hours of 8am to 3pm, subject to all approvals being received. To undertake the works a half road closure shall be implemented for Northbound traffic on Wubin-Mullewa Road. To follow safety regulations, a temporary speed zone of 40km/h shall also be implemented due to workers within 1.2m from the nearest trafficable lane.
