Notice is hereby given that a Virtual Audit, Risk and Improvement Meeting (E-Meeting) will be held at the Shire of Morawa, 26 Winfield Street, Morawa on Wednesday 12 August 2026, commencing at 6.00pm.

Mosquito Fogging will take place within the town centre on Wednesday 5th August 2026 from 3.30pm- 5.30pm. Please ensure all windows and doors are closed and that you remain inside while the mosquito fogging is taking place. Please be advised that mosquito fogging is scheduled to take place from Monday, 3 August 2026 within the Morawa town site. Please note that the exact dates and times will be confirmed and advertised early next week, as fogging operations are dependent on suitable weather conditions to ensure they are carried out safely and effectively.

Please be advised that roadwork's will be in place on the Wubin-Mullewa Road within the Morawa townsite for reticulation repairs from Monday 27 July- Friday 31 July 2026 7am-5pm. Traffic management will be in place and we ask all motorists to take care and follow all signage while works are being completed.

Please be advised that part of the Morawa-Yalgoo Road within the Yalgoo Shire is closed to HEAVY VEHICLES for road works until Friday the 24 July 2026. If you are a heavy vehicle travelling this road, you may need to review your route. More information can be found on the Shire of Yalgoo website.

Please be advised that due to our annual NAIDOC event being held, Wednesday 22 July 2026, temporary road closures will be in place for parts of Winfield Street and Prater Street from 10am till 2pm

Please be advised that ALL UNSEALED ROADS are currently closed to all vehicles over 4.5 tonne from 8.00am Friday 26 June 2026 due to current weather conditions. Road and weather conditions will be assessed before roads are officially reopened.

Please be advised that all unsealed roads are now open to all vehicles effective from 12.00pm today, Tuesday 16 June 2026.

Please be advised that due to forecasted weather conditions ALL UNSEALED ROADS within the Shire of Morawa will be closed to ALL vehicles over 4.5 TONNES from 4.30pm Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Unsealed roads are to be reopened to ALL vehicles 6.00am Saturday, 13 June 2026. Road and weather conditions will be assessed before roads are officially re opened.

Please be advised that due to current weather conditions, all Shire of Morawa unsealed roads will be closed to vehicles OVER 4.5 TONNES from 9.30am Monday, 8 June 2026. Road conditions will be reviewed regularly.

In accordance with section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Morawa hereby gives notice of its intention to adopt the following differential rates for unimproved value on mining and rural land and differential minimum rates on unimproved rural land and unimproved mining land within the Shire in the 2026-2027 financial year.

Please be advised that the Shire of Morawa Administration Office and Shire Depot will be closed from 12pm, Friday 29 May 2026. We will also remain closed on Monday 1 June 2026 due to the Western Australia Day Public Holiday. Normal opening hours will resume Tuesday 2 June 2026 from 8.30am

Entries are officially open from Thursday, 21 May 2026 until Wednesday, 22 July 2026 for all original artworks completed after August 2024 that have not previously received an award. People in Morawa and surrounding areas are urged to stay safe while handling dead mice to keep your home and family protected.

Mouse baits are now available for residential collection. Each household may collect one bag (containing 3x 100g sachets) of Racumin® Paste baits from the Shire Administration Office during opening hours (8:30am–4:30pm). Please note: • Baits are available to local residents only • One bag per household • Each sachet includes important safety and usage instructions – please read carefully before use • A register will be maintained to ensure fair and consistent distribution • While we currently hold a substantial supply, once stock is exhausted, no further baits will be available We appreciate the community’s continued cooperation and proactive efforts in managing the current mouse issue across the district.

Please be advised that Prater Street will be temporarily closed from Dreghorn Street to Gill Street from 10am-11.45am on Saturday, 25 April 2026 for the ANZAC day Service. Community members are welcome to attend the ANZAC day Service at the War memorial on Prater Street, which will commence at 10.45am, hosted by the Morawa-Gutha RSL Sub Branch.
