In addition to the Easter Closing hours the Shire Administration Office, depot and Landfill will also be closed Friday 25 April 2025 for ANZAC Day.

We have had another amazing Pool Season with everything from hosting Swimming carnivals and swimming lessons to our Australia Day Family fun day and being the perfect spot to cool off during hot summer days. Thank you to our amazing pool manager Ashton for keeping us safe and looking after our wonderful Swimming pool. Pool opening hours have decreased in preparation for the last day being Sunday 27 April 2025.

The ranger will be in the Morawa town site from 10.30am, Thursday 10 April 2025 conducting corella culling activities. Activities will be taking place around the Morawa Swimming Pool, Winfield Street Town Centre, Solomon Terrace and other Shire facilities. Corella management is undertaken to try to reduce the damage currently being caused by the corella population. Please do not approach the ranger conducting shooting activities.

We wish to advise that the Shire of Morawa Administration Office will be closed all day from 8.30am- 4.30pm on Tuesday 8 April 2025 for staff to attend essential training. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Morawa Swimming Pool will be closing at 5.00pm today, Thursday 27 March 2025 due to the interschool swimming carnival.

Construction works have commenced on the reroofing of the Morawa Recreational Centre. As a result of this work, the recreation centre, tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts and surrounding areas are temporarily closed to the public. We kindly request that the community refrain from entering the area until the project is finished, which is expected to be completed by 31 May 2025.

Please be advised that traffic control will be in place from 9:00am on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, on the Wubin-Mullewa Road within the Morawa town site, for essential water pipe repairs to be completed along the roadside. Please avoid the area if possible and follow all instructions from traffic control personnel and signage.

The roadworks on the Morawa South Road, Hill Road, and Boundary Road have now been completed, and the roads are reopened as of today, Monday, 24 March 2025 from12:00 PM. We appreciate the community's patience during these essential road upgrades.

The Morawa Swimming Pool will be closing at 4pm on Friday 14 March 2025 due to the Interhouse Swimming Carnival. The pool will still be open for the early morning session (6.00am- 8am).

Resealing works on Solomon Terrace will be completed on Tuesday, 18 February and Wednesday, 19 February 2025. Please obey all traffic management instructions and signage.

The Shire would like to clarify that the Australia Day article published in the Midwest Times on Wednesday, 29 January 2025, incorrectly named the winner of the 2025 Auspire Community Citizen of the Year Award, instead naming our 2024 award winner. Additionally, we would like to advise that the image depicting the citizenship ceremony was conducted at the Shire of Perenjori. We have informed the Midwest Times of these errors.

Please be advised that the road works currently being completed on the Morawa South Road, Hill Road and Boundary Road have been delayed and the roads will remain closed until Thursday, 20th March 2025. We thank the community for their patience.

The Shire has been in contact with Western Power and advised that the power outages scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday 30 January 2025 and Saturday 1 February 2025 will be cancelled due to extreme temperatures forecast. The planned maintenance will be rescheduled, with a new date to be advertised by Western Power.

The City of Greater Geraldton will be conducting partial and full road closures on the Nangetty- Walkaway Road during the bridge replacement project. Partial closures will be during 28 January- 8 February 2025 and full closures will be in place 10 February- 30 August 2025. Detours will be in place during the upgrades. The Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban for the Shire of Morawa has been lifted as of 2.15 pm today, Sunday 29 December 2024.

A HARVEST AND VEHICLE MOVEMENT BAN is currently in place for the Shire of Morawa, effective as of 9am, Sunday, 29 December 2024. The ban will be reviewed from Midday onwards. .

The Shire of Morawa have imposed a Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban for all day Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 2024 and Boxing day,Thursday, 26 December 2024.

The Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban for the Shire of Morawa will be lifted as of 1.30pm Monday 23 December 2024. Conditions will continue to be monitored.
