Council is aware of recent criticism from members of the Morawa community towards the Shire of Morawa Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Scott Wildgoose.

All members of Council fully support Mr Wildgoose and have been particularly pleased with the efforts he has made to make the Shire a better place to live, work and do business. The recent completion of the Community Strategic Plan, which Mr Wildgoose drove from development through to consultation and adoption by Council, is testament to his commitment to our community.

The role of a CEO in any Local Government is a challenging one that requires balancing personal, business and community needs and desires, with the requirement to comply with a myriad of government laws and regulations, and Local Laws.  Council is firmly of the view that Mr Wildgoose manages these responsibilities with diligence, thoroughness and thoughtful consideration. 

Attracting a CEO of the calibre, credentials and experience of Mr Wildgoose has been a coup for the Shire of Morawa. 

While Council appreciates that there will always be differences of opinion in the community and informed views on issues should be heard and respected, we ask that the Morawa community extend Mr Wildgoose and his family the generosity of spirit, kindness and support that has and will continue to typify and benefit this community.
